Chairman, PIA Indigenous Planning Working Group: Testimonial for Ian Brashaw
Since 2007, Ian has been closely involved with the establishment and continuing activities of the Planning Institute of Australia’s Indigenous Planning Working Group. As the Chair of that group, I have greatly admired Ian’s practical knowledge of Indigenous people and their development, particularly in relation to land. His skills in and knowledge of successful engagement with Indigenous people have been exemplary. In particular, his recent experiences with the Rubibi people have been a major contribution to the development of Institutes Policy, particularly the Planning Objectives and Actions. Ian has dedicated much time and resources to our group, and has both attracted and, through urbanplan, provided sponsorship resources for our activities. He has much commitment to the cause of Indigenous development in Australia, and I highly commend him.
