Nyamba Buru Yawuru Structure Plan
On behalf of Nyamba Buru Yawuru, urbanplan prepared a structure plan for part of Lot 3082 (102) Cable Beach Road East to facilitate proposed service commercial uses commencing with a proposed stage one large format retail warehousing.
In project management parlancè, time cost and quality are the three key drivers to achieve a project outcome. For Nyamba Buru Yawuru time was of the essence, the other drivers less significant. With supporting sub-consultant studies dating back some years, urbanplan’s specific directive was to achieve lodgement and advertising of the NBY Structure Plan within 3 months. Furthermore, redesign of the site layout was required to accommodate stormwater drainage, revised site access and separation to bushfire threat. urbanplan achieved the project directive.
The purpose of this Structure Plan was to de-constrain the identified parcel to a development ready position. The aim of the structure plan is to:
- deliver NBY’s vision for the identified parcel;
- achieve Local assessment and State Government approval to advertise; and
- facilitate a development application for the stage large format retail warehousing and subsequent stages of service commercial uses.
The goal was to enable the development of service commercial land uses to support Nyamba Buru Yawuru in its vision to deliver cultural and economic services for Yawuru and other Indigenous Australian people.
