Southern River Structure Plan

Structure Plan design and documentation to establish development parameters and pre-empt a Development Plan for Precinct 3 in the Southern River locality. The planning required scrutiny and critique of the DEC’s Wetland Vegetation Guidance to substantiate integrated urban form in a highly constrained urban fringe locality. The key to the success of this project was the detailed analysis of the wetland vegetation complexes, hydritic soils and hydrogeology to inform a Structure Plan design that promoted protection of a viable vegetation wetland through application of a stormwater treatment train within the urban stormwater management.

By integrating extensive knowledge of geomorphology and planning design, urbanplan presents a unique combination of skills as demonstrated in the Southern River Precinct 3E ODP where site development was optimised by reducing an 80% Wetland constraint to a 10% constraint.
